About Nick Danger
Nick has been in radio for 10 years. Nick actually got his start as an intern at KSMA in 1996 and later served as a reporter and morning show producer for “First Edition News’ with Doug Nelson and Steve Southwick. The first story that got Nick on the air locally and nationally was his live coverage of the HWY 166 tragedy involving the late CHP Officers Irvine and Stovall in early 1998.
“I have been forever a radio geek, as I use to walk around the house at age 4 with a microphone and tried to interview whoever I could with my tape recorder.”
Nick was Born in Los Angeles California and lived in Southern California for 16 years before a family move to Santa Maria in 1994. Nick is a Graduate of Santa Maria High School and attended Allan Hancock College and Cuesta College as Broadcasting and Journalism Major while working in radio. Nick left KSMA in 1998 to gain experience as a Disc Jockey for local radio stations KSLY, KSTT, and KPAT FM. Nick also served a two year stint as Program Director of KXTK AM (then KKOM-AM) Arroyo Grande.
In 2001 while traveling in London England Nick met and later became engaged to his beautiful wife Marta, a native of Poland, the two where married in 2005. Marta and Nick enjoy spending time traveling and spending time at home in Santa Maria with their (pets) whom they love like children 2 cats Hausie , Audrey and Dog Patsie.
Nick returned to KSMA in 2003 as a Production Assistant ( you will hear Nick’s voice on many of the stations commercials, imaging and announcing the time) in 2006 Nick was promoted to Program Director of KSMA as well as an afternoon/evening news anchor/weather caster for the station.
Nick’s mentors include radio legends Robert W. Morgan, The Real Don Steele, his former Program Director at KPAT-FM Joe Brown, KSMA News Director Doug Nelson, Steve Southwick and former KSMA morning host Claude “Hoot” Hooten.
